Upping the Happiness Quotient...

Updated: May 31

Greetings Friend!

It was absolutely gorgeous here, over the long weekend, and I was fortunate to spend it with my husband who is my best friend and spiritual partner. We shopped a little, purchased some things for the house, moved furniture, and hung pictures. It was so much fun!

As I get back into the grind today and reflect back on my weekend it occurred to me how far I’ve come on my journey to happiness. I have made it my primary goal in life…not money, not success, not notoriety. Happiness is my number one goal, and I am relentless in my pursuit of it. In each moment, wherever possible, I reach for the highest thing that will fill me up, expand me, make me laugh and generally make me feel good about life.

Our journeys are filled with twists and turns and everyone at some point will find themselves in the midst of something they don’t want. In fact, I’m there now. I had something happen that could have long term implications. Not detrimental but not a walk in the park either. In life we will sometimes find ourselves in the midst of things we don’t prefer but the one thing we can control is our mindset. Gone are the days I used to spend worrying and ruminating over things and consequently wrecking my body chemistry. Now, I reach for anything…a thought, an activity, a phone call with an upbeat friend. Anything that will lift my mood and bring me joy, in the moment.

And the Universe returns the higher energy ten-fold. Typically, before long, my situation improves. It's simply the Law of Attraction at work here. 🙂

This one practice has shifted me from feeling like life is one big pain in the behind to actually appreciating everything about the blessing of life.

Happiness is a state of mind. It's not dependent on what you have or what's happening around you. It's a state that must be cultivated. And if a person like me can do it...who is a reformed negative Nelly, anyone can.

Here's to your bright and happy future,
